Валюты членов Европейского сообщества, которые в рамках Общей сельскохозяйственной политики (Соttоn Agricultural Policy (CAP)) используют искусственные обменные курсы. Такая система ставит своей целью защитить сельскохозяйственные цены в странах-членах от слишком больших различий, вызываемых колебаниями реальных валютных курсов. В основе зеленой валюты лежала Европейская расчетная единица (EUA), которую позже заменила Европейская валютная единица (European Currency Unit (ECU)). Зеленый фунт стерлингов (green pound) - распространенное название британского фунта стерлингов, используемого в качестве зеленой валюты. В нем рассчитываются выплаты Великобритании в фонд Общей сельскохозяйственной политики или средства, причитающиеся ей из этого фонда, например, в случаях, когда стоимость курса фунта стерлингов отличается от зеленого фунта.

4 MONETARY COMPENSATORY AMOUNT
(сумма валовой компенсации) Субсидии и налоги на сельскохозяйственную продукцию, произведенную с странах ЕС, являющиеся составной частью Общей сельскохозяйственной политики (Соттоп Agricultural Policy). Они используются для покрытия разницы между “зеленым фунтом” (см.; “зеленые валюты” (green currencies)) и валютными обменными курсами, чтобы предотвратить колебания этих курсов в результате изменения аграрных цен.
